The Acorn Agency was created with the Real Estate Investor in mind. We offer a place for investors to hang their broker license while running their investment business as a priority. As an Acorn Agent, team members will be able to list their completed renovations on the MLS for a flat fee. Vance Josey, Owner and Broker in Charge
Vance grew up in Beaufort, NC. He graduated from Appalachian State University, with a degree in Accounting. He has more than 20 years of experience, mostly in manufacturing, with progressive levels of experience, up to a director level.
Vance and his wife, Jen, started renovating homes around the Triangle in 2017, after establishing their business, Jolific Homes. This led to Vance getting his real estate license, to assist with listing and buying properties. Vance also got his general contractor license, so he can start managing projects for other real estate investors. He and his wife have four furry children, two dogs, and two cats. When not counting beans or rehabbing, Vance is an avid hockey fan and supporter of the Carolina Hurricanes. The Joseys are also a members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Imee Corliss, Broker
Mother of three, Mimi (that’s code for grandma) of four, Imee resides in Clayton, NC with her husband, Steve, and four fur babies. She was born in the Philippines and her childhood/teen years were spent in Chicago and Long Island.
She possesses a BSBA in International Business and an EMBA, both from Colorado Technical University. She holds certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt, KCS v6 Practices and KCS v6 Internal Trainer.
She has dedicated just about 20 years of her working career to a Fortune 500 company, whose business is enterprise software. In 2017, her company was acquired which led to her layoff in 2018. Imee says it was the best thing that happened to her because it gave her the opportunity to not only pursue a career in real estate investment but to start her own company, Titan Properties Group. Having a thirst for knowledge and desire to grow her capabilities, Imee got her real estate license.
Imee is very passionate about health & fitness, she loves to cook, travel and read.
Valerie Myers, Broker
Valerie grew up in Sanford, NC and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Psychology. Prior to becoming a licensed real estate broker, Valerie owned a wellness business for 16 years specializing in massage therapy and personal fitness training.
Valerie has always held a desire to help people live their best lives possible. She continues to do so as owner of Trailblazer Home Solutions with her partner, Martin “Blaze” Blazevich. They have helped many sellers happily move forward in their lives, with peace of mind and cash in hand, after purchasing their unwanted properties. Valerie and Blaze are also avid mountain bikers, and volunteer as trail builders and advocates for the Triangle Off-Road Cyclists.
Laura Guy, Broker
Laura resides in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from NC State with a Masters degree in Physics. She worked in Non-Destructive Testing of infrastructures for 14 years. Using software coding, hardware design and building, data analysis to determine the structural integrity of infrastructures across the U.S.
For a second career, Laura decided to go into real estate investing and started Happy Tails Property Solutions. She has a real estate license to support her real estate investing career. Laura is very passionate about fitness and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
Anna Aguilar, Broker
Anna grew up in Encinitas, CA, and graduated from Biola University with a degree in Elementary Education. She then moved to Washington State where she taught for 10 years and also got her Masters in Education. She left teaching to raise her 3 children and moved to Raleigh, NC area 5 years ago.
Real estate has always been a passion of hers and with her husband, they started a real estate investment company, Rhapsody Property Group 3 years ago. They started with rental properties and rehabbing houses, then eventually started building new construction. She decided to get her real estate license to be able to buy and list their own properties. She can’t wait to rehab a historical farmhouse someday.
